Mr. Washington's Story
"In a post-course survey conducted by LPFI, the Etiquette class received the highest marks
of all the summer classes. A major contributing factor is the leadership skills and
mentorship provided by Ms. Fernandez."

"Ms. Fernandez's program filled a void which is noticeably absent among today's students. As the Level Playing Field Institute (LPFI) endeavors to prepare young scholars for a workforce beyond college,
Ms. Fernandez's program shored up several areas where students were underprepared and unexposed.

She expertly delivered a well-crafted curriculum that encompassed areas as social graces, dining etiquette, respect, self-esteem, and self-worth. Infrequent observations, her classroom exemplified a safe environment where students are engaged with discussions and lessons around a variety of salient topics. Topics that impact their lives. This student-centered focused actively had students participating and contributing in every facet of the instruction. Students felt empowered by the relevance of the content and their
self-efficacy enhanced by the knowledge they gained.

In a post-course survey conducted by LPFI, the Etiquette class received the highest marks of all the summer classes. A major contributing factor is the leadership skills and mentorship provided by Ms. Fernandez.
Her skills and abilities in this area are above reproach. Students fill connected and develop a sense of an ethical role model they may emulate. With such a positive role model, students leave the class with a new trajectory which will prove successful for years to come.

We at UCLA's Summer Math and Science Honors Program (SMASH) feels so strongly about the strength
of Ms. Fernandez Program we hope to continue the partnership for the foreseeable future. The inclusion
of her program with the academic makes a formidable and viable means of developing young scholars.

This program comes at a time when the influences of the world fly in the face of respect and dignity.
Her program has rescued what was once thought lost and forgotten. Ms. Fernandez’s program is highly recommended."
