"It is with great honor to highlight and praise Ms. Fernandez and the Etiquette program she leads for our high-risk adolescent boys and girls who need intrinsic intervention.

 

​Ms. Fernandez is an outstanding role model who taught our students how to manage and control their conflicts with grace, respect, and reason. She was a positive influence and mother-figure who helped our school gain one more community member to change our students’ outlook and commitment to their education and life. ​

 

Our school offers both positive and negative points as part of our PBIS system to reward positive behavior and correct negative behavior. We provide incentives for those who behave appropriately and implement restorative justice measures to address negative behavior. She is a valuable asset to our restorative justice program at our school, and she has been instrumental in helping our students reduce their negative points and turn them into positive points by encouraging students to be on time, submit their work, show respect to adults, and wear the proper uniform. ​

 

Ms. Fernandez is always prepared, on time for her classes, and ready to make our students realize their full potential with rewards. She has clear boundaries and has worked with their teachers to determine progress reports and alternative measures that needed to be implemented. She was very flexible in her approach, always willing to seek positive reflective tactics to utilize change and bring forth positivity to our students.
